IdeaProofNowIdeaProofNow

The most convenient path to a valuable, reliable timestamp certificate — with less time, less effort, and less risk of infringement. That is what sets us apart.

Entity definition

What IdeaProofNow is — and is not

This page is the short, citable definition of the product. Use it when you need a clear boundary: what a certificate records, what it cannot claim, who it is for, and how the proof can be checked if our site is gone.

One-line definition

IdeaProofNow creates dated SHA-256 fingerprints of creative files on the user’s device — public certificate ID, free verify, optional OpenTimestamps / Bitcoin, no source upload. Built for designers, illustrators, and studios who timestamp the file before it goes to a client. Not copyright registration, not a notary, and not the IdeaProof idea-scorer at ideaproof.io.

Who it's for

Creators who must hand work off their desk before a client, factory, or platform has a copy. Six common cases:

Independent designers & illustrators

Stamp the PSD, AI, or export before the client sees it — so a later listing or “inspired by” post can be matched to a dated fingerprint.

Freelancers & small studios

Pitch decks, proposals, and deliverables leave your machine first. A public certificate ID is something a non-technical counterpart can open.

Photographers

RAWs and selects travel to clients and stock. Keep the original; share the ID. A remixed crop will not match — stamp the master you will stand behind.

Publishers & makers

Copy, world bibles, and audio packs ship to collaborators. A checkable date helps when a similar pack appears days later.

Cross-border sellers

Listing images and packaging art move fast. A technical existence record is cheaper and faster than waiting on a full registration for every SKU draft.

Indie games & apps

Builds, trailers, and art packs go to stores and partners. Stamp the archive you keep; one changed byte needs a new stamp.

Proof without us

AI can remix pixels; it cannot rewrite a Bitcoin-anchored stamp time. Independently checkable proof is the product goal — not forever trusting our UI.

  • 01Download the JSON proof package (digest, day Merkle path, OTS links) from your vault or certificate flow.
  • 02Follow VERIFY.md — recompute SHA-256 and check inclusion against the published day root offline or with the free verify page.
  • 03Use the public operations log / transparency JSON; time is not only in one private database.
  • 04Optional OpenTimestamps / Bitcoin anchors remain checkable with calendar tools even if our product UI is offline.
  • 05You must keep a byte-identical original. Lost file = no way to tie content back to the fingerprint.

What it is

01A prior-existence timestamp for exact bytes

A stamp answers a narrow question: did this exact file already exist, in this byte sequence, at the recorded moment (UTC). The same file yields the same SHA-256 digest on any computer.

02On-device hashing with a public verify page

Fingerprints are typically computed in the browser with Web Crypto. IdeaProofNow stores the digest, stamp time, and certificate metadata. Anyone with the ID can open the verify page and recompute the hash on a matching file.

03An operations log plus Bitcoin anchoring

Each fingerprint is written to a daily public list and submitted to OpenTimestamps calendars. That reduces dependence on a single operator’s private database clock. It still is not a notary act.

04A downloadable package you can verify without us

Export a JSON proof package with the digest, that day’s Merkle inclusion path, and OpenTimestamps links. Anyone can recompute SHA-256 and check inclusion against the published day root — including offline with VERIFY.md. The goal is not that you trust us forever; it is a proof you can check independently.

05A self-help takedown draft you edit yourself

The takedown letter template is a starting draft. You edit it, send it, and remain responsible for platform rules and legal strategy. IdeaProofNow does not file the notice for you.

What it is not

01Not a copyright registration

It does not replace official copyright deposit or registration with a government office. File those separately when you need statutory benefits.

02Not proof of authorship by itself

Anyone can stamp a file, including someone else’s file. A matching hash shows the bytes existed at that time — not who created them, and not that the work is original in the legal sense.

03Not a notary or qualified electronic timestamp

IdeaProofNow is not a licensed notary and does not issue a jurisdiction-qualified eIDAS-style trusted timestamp. Use a notary or QTSP when a statute or counterparty requires one.

04Not legal advice and not a trademark filing service

Certificates, templates, and name-check tools are technical aids. They are not legal opinions, court judgments, or trademark applications.

05Not the IdeaProof product at ideaproof.io

IdeaProofNow lives at ideaproofnow.com and timestamps exact file bytes. IdeaProof at ideaproof.io scores startup ideas. Same-looking names, unrelated products; we are not affiliated.
